The Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Penance or Penance and Reconciliation) has 3 elements: conversion, confession and celebration. In it we find God’s unconditional forgiveness; as a result we are called to Forgive others.
As a result of Original Sin, human nature is weakened. Baptism, by imparting the life of Christ’s grace, takes away Original Sin, and turns us back toward God. The consequences of this weakness and the inclination to evil persist, and we often commit sin, which is a breaking of God’s law - His Commandments and his law of love. If you need help making a confession – especially if you have been away for some time – simply ask the priest and he will help you by “walking” you through the steps to make a good confession
At St. Bernadette, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available on Saturdays from 3:45 – 4:45, or by calling 440-734-1300 and asking for an appointment with the priest.
