About Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.  The 10 week program is designed to enhance girls' social, psychological and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences.  Each lesson is led by trained volunteer coaches and covers topics such as healthy eating habits, practicing kindness and gratitude, bullying and gossip and community service.  Physical activity is incorporated into each lesson, preparing the girls for a celebratory 5k running event.  

 

At the culmination of the program, each girl is more confident in her ability to set and reach goals, make positive decisions and walk away from bad influences. She is willing to stand up for herself and for others; she is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
